The Best Month For Buying Stuff To Save Money
There are certain months when buying stuff is the best time to purchase when you hope to take advantage of sales. I have talked about decluttering stuff for years. It’s a neverending project. Sometimes I look around and I think to myself, why did I buy that? Here’s the deal, today it’s about buying larger ticket items. If I can figure out how to save a dollar, I’m on it. I thought I would share with you my monthly ideas to save you money.
As of today, I don’t have anything on my “needs” list. That can change in a flash if you have a refrigerator go out that is not repairable. Or the stove quits working. You know what I’m saying. You can print this list and keep it somewhere to watch for sales in your community. If you look at the list you can see exactly why each month is perfect for certain purchases.
Best Month For Buying Stuff
January
Everyone is on a health kick after the new year, right? This is the perfect time to pick up a bathroom scale, treadmills, sheets or linens, that big screen TV you have been saving money to buy so you can watch the Super Bowl, winter clothing is now on clearance, after Christmas sales galore, and cellphones.
February
Need a new mattress? Perfect time. This is the month that humidifiers go on sale, and don’t forget the winter sports gear on clearance.
March
It’s after Valentine’s Day, so picture those chocolates on sale. This is the month that digital cameras go on sale, computers, luggage, and, believe it or not, golf clubs. Yes, this is when last year’s models are so much cheaper.
April
If you’re in the market for carpet, this is the month. It’s also a good month for digital cameras and computers. If you have always wanted to go on a cruise you may want to book it in April. Tennis shoes go on sale, watch your online sales as well.
May
Baby high chairs, strollers, house paint, and refrigerators. If your refrigerator is just about to go out, I would research what models fit your budget.
June
If you are in the market for home furniture, this is the month. If you’re looking for summer sports gear watch the sales. It’s also great for treadmills and exercise equipment. If you have been needing a special tool to use for projects, this is the month.
July
If you need a camcorder this is the month. This is a great month for house paint, siding, and materials for your deck may be on sale.
August
This is the month for air conditioners, snowblowers, dehumidifiers, backyard furniture, and backpacks. It makes sense for the backpacks, it’s back to school right around the corner.
September
If your computer is on the outs, this is the month. If you need a printer watch for sales. If you need a lawnmower or a tractor be ready. It’s a great month for buying stuff like house paint, wine, and holiday flights. Betty reminded me to check for planters that are marked down in September!
October
Gas barbecue grills, cameras, and computers. October is awesome for lawnmowers, tractors, and blue jeans.
November
Another great month for barbecue grills, TVs, camcorders, and candy. Be sure and watch for after Halloween candy clearance baskets or tables.
December
If you are in the market for large appliances this may be the best time. If you need some kitchen appliances or kitchen cookware, e-book readers, and headphones, be ready for December.
I hope my list helps when buying stuff you need. We never know when that lawnmower will die. Please store some water and a few cans of food. May God bless you and your family. Thanks for being prepared for the unexpected.

Hello, and thanks so much for the tips! You might want to add one more to your list, however. My mother told me to start looking for planters to go on sale in September. At the first of the month, I looked at Walmart and was disappointed that they had hardly any discounted. Yesterday, though, (September 9th), I went back and nearly all of their planters were greatly discounted! I purchased at least one of nearly every planter they had! I loved it and am set for planters for years!
Hi Betty, oh good one!! Thank you, I better add that to my list, it makes sense. The stores are moving out the old to bring in new stuff for the new season. It’s so fun to have new planters ready for next year! Or this year!!!! I love it! Linda
