It’s that time of year, get ready to make the best Cranberry Salsa Recipe ever! This appetizer is so fun to make, you can add more Jalapeños depending on how spicy you like your salsa.

This recipe is sure to please your guests at your home or at a neighborhood party. It’s a sweet and spicy dip sure to please the pickiest eater. You can even serve this over cream cheese.

We make this every year when those bags of cranberries hit the grocery stores. It doesn’t matter when Mark and I make this recipe, people ask for the recipe before we leave the party.

This recipe is so easy to make you’ll want to take this one to your family party for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and your New Year’s Eve party.

You can leave the seeds in the Jalapeños, or scrape them out. You decide the “heat” that fits your palate. This will truly be the easiest, fastest, yummiest holiday appetizer you will make this season.

Ingredients

  • Fresh cranberries
  • Jalapeños
  • Green onions
  • Cilantro
  • Ginger
  • Lime juice
  • Chili peppers
  • Basil
  • Sugar

Cranberry Salsa

Step One

Use your processor to chop the fresh cranberries. If you don’t have a processor you can chop them with a sharp knife.

Step Two

This is how the cranberries will look after chopping.

Step Three

Grab a large mixing bowl and place the chopped cranberries in the bowl. Add the Jalapeños, green onions, cilantro, ginger, lime juice, chili peppers, basil, and sugar.

Mix thoroughly. Add salt and pepper, if desired. Place the Cranberry Salsa Recipe mix in a covered bowl in the refrigerator overnight.

Step Four

Serve with your favorite tortilla chips. It’s really good spread over a block of cream cheese as well.

Step Five

Serve it cold or at room temperature, and enjoy.

When Are Cranberries Not Good For You?

If you are on blood thinners or you are prone to kidney stones, ask your doctor before you consume them. Cranberries are high in Vitamin K and therefore may interfere with blood thinners.

Ingredients
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1 Jalapeños (seeded and diced)
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro (diced or minced)
  • 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon dried chili peppers
  • 1 tablespoon basil (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Run the cranberries through a food processor until desired consistency. Add them to a large mixing bowl. Add in the remaining ingredients in order as shown. Mix well. Refrigerate in a covered bowl overnight. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips. You can also serve it over an 8-ounce rectangle of cream cheese with chips.
