The Very Best Italian Cream Soda Recipe
It’s that time of year when I want to share my Italian Cream Soda Recipe with you. It’s festive, fairly cheap, and kids and grandkids love making these. These are perfect for family get-togethers and even family reunions.
The very first time I had an Italian Cream Soda was at a restaurant. Mark and I had taken our kids and grandkids to an Italian restaurant for dinner. The server asked if we wanted Italian sodas. Of course, we wanted to hear all about them. From that day forward our family was hooked.
Of source, I had to see how they were made because obviously, they are cheaper to make at home, right? They only take four ingredients to make them, of course, we also love adding whipping cream and a cherry on top, right?
I love that we can choose our own flavors and make them right at the table. An Italian Soda is a soft drink made with carbonated water, half and half, and flavors of your choice with a creamy texture and topped with whipping cream.

Are Italian Cream Sodas actually Italian?
Actually, no they are not! LOL! The company Torani, crafted this popular drink about 50 years ago because of the extensive flavors that Torani had produced. The company is based out of California. You can choose so many flavors, it’s so fun to make these drinks, and many others, with their sweetened and sugar-free flavorings.
What makes Italian Soda different from regular soda?
They are both made with carbonated water and syrup but without caffeine. You can choose different flavorings from strawberry, coconut, orange, lemon, and so many more. Other soda drinks don’t have half and half added.
Why do Italian cream sodas curdle?
The curdling happens when you use citrus flavoring. You can use this flavoring instead, Torani Orange Dairy Friendly Syrup.
Can I make these without the Half & Half?
Yes, you can. I realize some people are going without dairy these days. It will still taste great without it, but the flavor and texture will be different.
What are the most popular Italian Soda flavors?
Of course, everyone has their favorite flavor, but I researched the answer to this. In order of popularity, it goes like this: lemon, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, lime, cherry-lime, and the list is even longer. It’s so fun to choose your favorite ones.
How long does the Torani Syrup Flavorings last?
They are shelf-stable for two years, or whatever the bottle has printed on the top of the bottle.
How many flavorings are available by Torani?
Are you ready for this? They have 150 flavorings sold worldwide. You can add the flavoring to coffee, tea, and lemonades, and make your very own soda flavor by mixing your favorite flavors together. Best Flavored Torani Syrups
