Candy Cane Kiss Sugar Cookies Recipe
I’m sharing my candy cane kiss sugar cookies recipe with you today. They’re wonderful for making with friends and family. Having my granddaughter here is the perfect time to make them for the holidays.
The cookie is crisp on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside. You will love biting into one of those peppermint kisses in the cookies we can only get once a year.
The combination of sugar cookies, crushed candy canes, and a kiss in the middle of each cookie makes these the perfect holiday treat.
Candy Cane Kiss Sugar Cookies Recipe
Kitchen Tools Needed
- Mixing bowls
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Cookie Spatula
- Cookie sheets
- Parchment paper (if desired)
- Hand Mixer
- Spatula
Step One: Combine Ingredients
Preheat the oven to (350°F) = (176°C) degrees. Combine the powdered sugar, butter, egg, and extracts in a large mixing bowl.
Step Two: Add the Dry Ingredients
Beat the mixture until creamy and smooth, scraping the bowl often, about 3-4 minutes. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl, then whisk them together.
Step Three: Combine the Wet and Dry Ingredients
Combine the creamy mixture with the flour mixture and mix thoroughly. It will be a bit crumbly. Now stir in the chopped Hershey® candy cane kisses.
Step Four: Make one-inch Diameter Cookie Balls
The next step is to make one-inch-diameter cookie balls and roll them in sugar to coat them. Place the balls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or on a greased cookie sheet.
Step Five: Bake The Cookies
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set.
Step Six: Remove from the Oven
After baking, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for about 2-3 minutes. They need to cool BEFORE you place the Hershey® candy cane kiss in the center of them, or they will melt the candy kiss.
The cookies may split slightly, so press them together with your fingers when you put the kiss in each one.
Step Seven: Freeze the Extras
Place the cookies in the freezer while on the cookie sheet immediately to set the cookies so the kiss will not soften. After the cookies are set, store them in the refrigerator.
They will keep about one week in the refrigerator. They freeze well for about 2-3 weeks.

Is This Cookie Suitable For A Cookie Exchange?
It’s a good cookie to take to a cookie exchange to trade with the others attending the party. It’s cute and festive, with the red and white kiss in the center. Here is a post on having a Cookie Exchange.
How To Choose A Serving Tray
The first thing to do is decide how many cookies you will put out to serve your guests. A white serving plate makes the best presentation for cookies. This is my Corelle serving tray; it can be used for meals and cookies.
How Do I Layer The Cookies To Serve?
Start with a plate and place one cookie in the center. Then, place a cookie in circles around the center cookie. In the next layer, place a cookie on top of two cookies around the plate to add texture to your display.
Label Cookies For Allergies
Please label your cookies if they may have nuts or other allergens so those affected with allergies will skip those cookies.
Final Word
I’m excited to share my candy cane kiss sugar cookies recipe today. Sometimes, we need to have some fun baking when there has been so much negative talk over the last few months.
Besides, who doesn’t love freshly baked cookies, right? Be safe, my friends. May God bless this world, Linda
Chewy Molasses Cookies by Linda
Easy to make, yummy and a cute presentation. This is exactly what I needed for holiday cookies. Thank you!
Hi Tiffany, making cookies with my daughters brought the whole family joy! Thank you! Linda
I just printed this recipe off for Jane to make. They look delicious.
Hi Ray, thank you for the 5 stars, my sweet friend. Jane will love making these with you! Linda
Linda: The recipe says to put the cookies in the fridge so the kiss will not soften. OR how about this great idea? “Pop the warm cookie with it’s softened kiss in your mouth before it cools and hardens”. LOL. These cookies would be great with homemade hot cocoa – not the over-sweet nasty packets. You should post a link to your recipe.
Hi Kay, thank you for the 5 stars, my sweet friend! I like your idea of popping that warm cookie in my mouth before the kiss hardens! Oh hot cocoa, YES! Linda
